Hi, I’m Sam, a counsellor with a background in nursing, community support, and group facilitation. I work with an approach that values honesty, autonomy, and gentle encouragement. I specialise in supporting chronically ill, and disabled people—because I get it. I live with chronic illness myself and understand how important it is to have support from someone who truly sees you, listens without judgement, and respects your lived experience. My goal is to create a safe, affirming space where you feel heard and supported, whether you're navigating identity, burnout, boundaries, grief, or simply trying to make life a little easier to manage. I'm currently studying a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment one day a week and have also completed short courses through Stanford University. I'm committed to ongoing learning, collaborative care, and doing things differently—because you deserve support that actually works for you. Sessions are available online, and I work flexibly to meet your access needs.

The Spoony community matters to me because it represents something I’ve needed myself: understanding, flexibility, and care that doesn’t require you to explain or justify your experience. As someone living with chronic illness, I know what it’s like to feel overlooked in traditional systems—not because people don’t care, but because the structure isn’t built with us in mind. Spoony flips that. It centres people who are often pushed to the margins and offers real, accessible support. Being part of a community that values lived experience, honours individual needs, and allows both clients and practitioners to show up authentically, it’s not just refreshing, it’s necessary. That’s the kind of community I want to be involved in because it matters.
