I adore working as a therapist, it is such a privilege to be with you and to work together to untangle problems, shift perspectives, develop new understandings, and reconnect with the things that matter most to you. I'm a registered psychologist and work using different approaches depending on what might fit best. I tend to lean towards Narrative Practice and ACT, and I always work with a trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, and decolonial framework. I am also an endorsed Community Psychologist, which means I work with the core understanding of the importance of healthy communities for healthy people. I have had extensive education and experience in this, which helps me to always be aware of societal influences - such as capitalism, colonialism, racism, patriarchy (and homophobia and transphobia), poverty, and climate change - and the impacts they have on our lives and mental health. I've worked with people experiencing all kinds of mental health concerns and life challenges, and I think the most important part of therapy is being truly safe, seen, and heard. The rest follows as we work together, whether that is for a short time or longer. Unfortunately I am not able to offer bulk-billed or sliding scale appointments through the Spoony platform, as these are met through my primary face-to-face practice. However I would be happy to do a 15 minute chat session to help connect you with low-cost services if this is needed, just reach out. These are offered at $5 (the Spoony minimum). I am currently only offering private (full-fee) appointments but will be expanding to offer Medicare-subsidised appointments in the near future.
