Darcy Moore (preferred name - Mikki)
I have a passion for supporting adults and young people navigating neurodiversity, life transitions, and trauma. I’m currently developing my practice with a person-centred and trauma-informed approach. I currently work as a lead academic student mentor with Victoria University, which has been my job for the last 3.5 years as I continue my studies with VU. I was elected as the Accessibility Officer for VUSU in 2023 and was flown out to Sydney to present my workshop on Universal Design in Higher Education. Outside of my work, I’m a passionate UV acrylic painter and theatrical UV face painter. Creativity is a big part of how I connect with others and express myself, and I love bringing colour, movement, and joy into community spaces. I also have a strong background in sport as both an athlete and head coach, which has shaped my understanding of discipline, teamwork, and body awareness. As someone with lived experience of disability and neurodivergence, I’m deeply committed to creating inclusive spaces that honour diverse ways of thinking, being, and communicating. These experiences not only inform my values but also enrich the way I support others — with empathy, flexibility, and an open mind

Why the Spoony community matters to me
This work is deeply meaningful to me because I’m passionate about supporting others to feel seen, heard, and empowered. Drawing on my lived experience and a strong foundation in psychology, I’m committed to reducing the impact of trauma and helping people navigate life’s challenges with greater self-understanding and resilience. I believe that by creating safe, inclusive, and compassionate spaces, we can support healing and contribute to a kinder, more connected world. My previous experience with art, person-centred therapy, and trauma-informed therapy have influenced the way I practice. Clients can expect a supportive space to explore their experiences at their own pace and identify authentic and attainable goals.
Qualifications
I hold a Diploma in Criminal Justice and Psychological studies, a Degree in Psychology, WWCC, and my ASIST certificate. I have spent the last 3 years working as an academic student mentor and am now a team lead, I run a program called NeuroNavi (for neurodivergent HE students). While I don’t yet hold formal counselling qualifications, my lived experience, professional background, and education in psychology provide me with a strong foundation to offer meaningful support
